Grande Île is the historic centre of Strasbourg, France. Regarded by the International Council on Monuments and Sites as "an old quarter that exemplifies medieval cities", Grande Île is home to numerous 15th century Gothic monuments, among them four renowned centuries-old churches: the St. Thomas Church, the St. Pierre-le-Vieux, the St. Pierre-le-Jeune and the St. Étienne. Also located within Grande Île is the Strasbourg Cathedral, noted as the world's fourth tallest church.
