The Longmen Grottoes in Henan Province, China, has one of the largest and most impressive collection of Chinese art from the late Northern Wei and Tang Dynasties (316 to 907 AD). This page is presently a stub. Details will be added soon. The artwork in the grottoes and niches represent a high point of Chinese stone carving. They were inscribed as World Heritage Sites during the 24th session of the World Heritage Committee meeting in Cairns, Australia on 27 November to 2 December, 2000.
